London Tap Jam is London’s only jam / open mic night for tap dancers. It provides a unique place for tap dancers to be able to perform with world class musicians and at the same time allows audiences to witness how great tap dance can be. Our first jam took place in 2006 and we believe we are now the world's longest running tap jam. This event is run by a team of dedicated volunteers and is the centre of the London tap dance community.

London Tap Jam is an event for everyone whether you're a tap dancer, a musician or simply a member of the audience looking to enjoy some fantastic tap dancing and have a great time. The atmosphere is  supportive, encouraging and friendly.

As a not-for-profit organisation, our remit is to continue to nurture the current and future generations of British tap dancers and to provide a space where the public can experience top quality live music and tap dance.

As well as producing a regular tap jam, London Tap Jam is also known for inviting world renowned guest artists to teach masterclasses and to perform at the jam. This allows UK tap dancers to grow considerably as artists and allows the audience to experience performances from some of the best tap dancers in the world. We also provide a free informal class before the jam begins for tap dancers to learn about how to improvise with a live band.

The organisers are dedicated to both the black American art form of tap dance and to London Tap Jam. It is something that we have created and watched grow and become the heart of the tap dancing community. We are very thankful to everyone who has ever supported London Tap Jam and will always hold the utmost respect and gratitude to the original black American masters of tap dance.
