London Tap Jam is back for the last time in 2014! We're joined by Seattle-based tap dancer and visual musician Jessie Sawyers, teaching and dancing in London for the first time. Our fantastic live band, The Michèle Drees Trio, will be there too, joined by host Junior Laniyan and tap dancers from across the country. Get involved with your instrument/taps/voice, or just sit back and and enjoy.
From 7.15pm, Annette Walker leads the Renegade Stage with exercises for dancers new to improvisation. Bring your tap shoes and join Annette.
At 8pm the jam starts, featuring improvised tap dance and hosted by Junior Laniyan. Musicians and tap dancers are welcome to play – just tell Melody what you want to dance to.
Seattle-based tap dancer Jessie Sawyers is coming to London as part of her world tour and we are privileged to have her teach masterclasses for us! Jessie dances with a melodic and graceful style and has a deep love of improvised music collaboration.
